Title: Diario de MEMÓRIAS - Relatos da minha Infância

A Portuguese girl from Angola with a Brazilian accent

Diary in text (computer) and written in Portuguese.

The events recounted in this diary, divided in to eleven chapters, are situated mainly in the memories lived by the protagonist and her family in the city of Novo Redondo (now Sumbe) in Angola, your family's escape, with the beginning of the civil war in 1974, and the arrival in Portugal. Filomena Farinha wanders through the memories of her childhood in Angola, through the geography of the places, the smells, the flavours and the feelings. She tells us about the integration in the distinct reality and life, first in Lisbon and later in Freixo, a small village in the district of Viseu. A diary of real events but also a poetic and sensitive journey about belonging to places, loss and the feelings of that loss from the perspective of this eight year old girl, but also of the woman she is today.
