Gilana begins her diary with her childhood memories in Songo, Tete province, Mozambique. She soon left to Maputo to continue her studies and later, when she was still a minor, she came with six companions to Portugal with a scholarship under a cooperation programme. She tells us about the adaptation, the surprises, some good and some not so good, of living and studying in Alentejo and later at university. Between studying law, working for her subsistence, volunteering and associativism, this is an account of the perseverance of a young woman who always carries her family in her heart.
