Founded in 2013, Associação Arquivo dos Diários (AADD) is a non-profit organization dedicated to collecting and preserving autobiographical memories. These include diaries, among other testimonial records, in an effort to get to know and give a platform to share individual life stories and therefore contribute to a more democratic documenting of our history and constructing a more positive collective identity.
With its headquarters at São Lázaro´s Library in Lisbon, besides gathering, preserving and disseminating its collection, Arquivo dos Diários also develops several activities in working networks with other national and international archives and organizations, working towards a critic thinking about memory and transforming materials in cultural objects with a social impact.
